STC faculty member Al Watkins is proud of his legacy in nursing – helping pioneer the way for men to join the profession.

“Just a moment of your time” is the title of the poem Al Watkins wrote for nurses and now he asks for a moment of your time to share his personal experience in becoming a nurse. After his 1961 high school graduation, Al set his mind on attending Bible College and Seminary. Unfortunately, his family’s financial status kept him from carrying out his plans. He had to pursue a different, more affordable career, but was unsure where he would end up. He found his answer in the February issue of Reader’s Digest that year. The Pecan Campus Library Art Gallery is proud to present “Parallels of Concept: Interpreter and Translator” featuring artworks by Sara Waters and Suzanne Paquette. The exhibit opens Thursday, Sept. 10 and will be on view through October 23, 2009. The Mid-Valley Campus Library Art Gallery is proud to present “Sealed for Your Own Protection,” an installation exhibit celebrating banned books by STC Instructor Phyllis Evans.
