On the outside, Rio Grande City High School senior Krystal Flores looks like a normal teenager. She laughs and hangs out with her friends, listens to music, and enjoys all the activities adolescence has to offer. But, her academic prowess has opened up a future full of opportunities. Starr County grads celebrate accomplishments at STC’s annual celebration

It was a warm evening, but that didn't stop more than 80 South Texas College Starr County students from celebrating their impending graduations. Families with cheering grandparents, loving spouses, proud siblings and sleeping newborns filled the college's amphitheater to capacity on Friday, May 8 for STC's Starr County Campus 10th Annual Recognition Celebration.The crowd rose for an invocation by Pastor Bob Alderman of First Baptist Church RGC and welcomed Starr County Campus Coordinator Ruben Saenz as master of ceremonies.
