On Tuesday, April 18th, the Dual2Degree Department will be hosting its 4th Annual Dual Credit Update at the South Texas College Cooper Center from 8:30 am to 12pm.  The annual convening will provide school district administrators and staff with information relating to institutional initiatives designed to improve student success. South Texas College set to launch its next round of STEM-based training

South Texas College is looking for the next cohort for its RGV STEM Faculty Institute. Working under the auspices of the Texas Regional STEM Degree Accelerator (TRSDA), STC is encouraging faculty from across the Valley to immerse themselves in intensive training with the intent to enrich students’ learning experience in STEM-related fields. South Texas College and Weslaco East High School promote college-ready mindset for dual credit students

Beginning this school year, South Texas College in partnership with Weslaco East High School have begun a unique pilot program aiming to foster a college-ready mindset among dual credit students. A first among Valley high schools, STC has started the initiative in Weslaco and hopes to extend it to other schools in the region. South Texas College has been selected to participate in a statewide program with the goal to improve students’ transition from public education into community colleges. DHR assists the Valley Scholars Program at South Texas College

Doctors Hospital at Renaissance has donated $2,500 to the Valley Scholars Program at South Texas College. With their donation to the 11th Annual “A Night with the Stars” at a special check ceremony on Tuesday Aug. 23, DHR has become the latest sponsor that has affirmed their support for the brightest students in the Valley.
