STC, DHR and PSJA ISD dual credit seniors first in nation to graduate with Associate Degree in Nursing

STC Spring Commencement to be held May 12-13

Ceremonies set for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday South Texas College will confer nearly 4,000 degrees during its Spring 2017 commencement ceremonies on Friday May 12 and Saturday May 13.  Graduation will take place at the State Farm Arena. South Texas College AEDT hosts 2017 Sketcharrette

The Architectural and Engineering Design Technology Department hosted its 2017 Sketcharrette at the Mid-Valley Campus on April 26 . Students from the Architectural Illustration class were tasked with designing a house for their selected “client” (dog or cat). Student of the Week: Lorena Martinez

Lorena Martinez says she always had an affinity for science and math. Born in the U.S., but raised in Mexico, she moved back to the United States in middle school to make the most of her education. Today, Lorena is a nurse in the making at South Texas College. Upon moving to the U.S. as an eighth grader, Lorena would eventually graduate from South Texas High School for Health Professions in Mercedes. While in high school she received her certification as a Certified Medical Assistant and would gain experience in emergency rooms at various hospitals. STC Students Present at National 2017 Psychological Conference in San Antonio

Five student psychology majors within the Department of Psychological Science at South Texas College made the trip to San Antonio to take part in a prestigious conference held by the Southwestern Psychological Association (SWPA) on April 1. South Texas College to begin offering Continuing Education Credits to nurses and nursing faculty

Two and a half years in the making, South Texas College will now be offering specialized Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) in the Rio Grande Valley.
