South Texas College collaborates with Blimpie Sub Shop franchise for scholarship opportunities

South Texas College celebrated its first successful semester collaborating with the Blimpie Sub Shop franchises in the Valley to provide scholarships to current students. A total of six students were selected to receive funds donated by Blimpie franchises in the Valley, which are independently owned and operated by Esperanza on Fifth LLC. Operating under the slogan “Great Food for a Great Cause,” Blimpie Sub Shops in both McAllen and Weslaco have dedicated their revenue to providing economic assistance to the community. South Texas College hosts 12th annual Rio Grande Valley Regional Science Olympiad

More than 300 students arrived at South Texas College (STC) to test their skills in a daylong regional science competition. STC hosted the 12th annual Rio Grande Valley Regional Science Olympiad on Feb. 24. STC named second in the nation for enrollment of Hispanic students by Hispanic Outlook Magazine

  Numerous programs at STC recognized by HO for awarding degrees to Hispanics South Texas College (STC) has been ranked second in the nation for total enrollment of Hispanics among two and four-year schools in 2015, according to Hispanic Outlook (HO) on Education Magazine. Of the 34,371 students enrolled at STC, more than 94 percent are Hispanic, according to HO. The  staff  at South Texas College’s Mid-Valley Campus will be assisting students over the Winter Break with extended hours for Spring 2018 registration. Classes begin Jan. 22. 18-20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bookstore hours will also be extended Day, night, weekend, and online classes are available to accommodate busy schedules.
