Mini-mester courses still available for Spring 2018 at South Texas College

South Texas College (STC) is giving students the opportunity to register for mini-mester courses starting Jan.16. Mini-mesters are six to 14-week classes that offer the same quality instruction and college credits but in a shorter time span. These classes are great for students who are unable to take traditional length semesters or seek to have more flexibility in their schedule. South Texas College Announces Saturday Extension Hours

With classes set to begin Jan. 16, South Texas College has extended service hours to Saturdays starting on Jan. 6.   Student Services will be open Jan. 6, 13, and 20 at the Pecan, Mid-Valley and Starr County Campuses in order to assist students who are in the process of enrolling for the spring semester.    The times for these extended hours will be from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.   Financial aid specialists will be available to help students fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and to answer any financial aid questions.   The cashier’s office will also be open to help … Read More …

STC named second in the nation for enrollment of Hispanic students by Hispanic Outlook Magazine

  Numerous programs at STC recognized by HO for awarding degrees to Hispanics South Texas College (STC) has been ranked second in the nation for total enrollment of Hispanics among two and four-year schools in 2015, according to Hispanic Outlook (HO) on Education Magazine. Of the 34,371 students enrolled at STC, more than 94 percent are Hispanic, according to HO. The magazine recently published its “Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics” with data collected from the 2015 school year. Registration for the upcoming 2018 spring semester is underway at all South Texas College campuses including the Starr County Campus located in Rio Grande City.
