Starr County Psychology Club joins Adopt-A-Highway program

The Starr County Campus Psychology Club of South Texas College participated in its first ever Adopt-A-Highway Trash Pick-Up on Saturday, July 8. Psychology club members collected over 20 bags of trash over a 2 mile stretch in Rio Grande City adjacent to the STC campus which they opted to sponsor earlier this year. The “Adopt-A-Highway: Don’t Mess with Texas” Initiative created by the Texas Department of Transportation has been established to help keep the Texas roads clean. STC holds sold out event at 11th annual Starr County’s Got Talent

Starr County Campus Psychology Club of South Texas College hosted its 11th annual Starr County’s Got Talent at the campus auditorium on Friday, April 28. It was a completely sold out event with over 180 people in attendance and over $600 raised from admission fees to benefit the annual Starr Psych Club Scholarship.  There were 15 performances including singers abd dance groups from all over Starr County. STC hosts 8th annual Starr County Mental Health Awareness Conference

On Thursday March 20, the Starr County Campus Psychology Club of South Texas College hosted its 8th Starr County Mental Health Awareness Conference at the STC Auditorium in Rio Grande City.  Milton Gonzalez presented “Thinking for a Change” elaborating on the importance of positive thinking and believing in oneself in order to become successful. Starr County’s Got Talent 10 becomes sold out event

Starr County’s Got Talent 10 Showcase of Champions was a rousing success. The event, hosted by the Starr County Campus Psychology Club at South Texas College was held on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, and was completely sold out. More than 240 people attended, and raised over $900 from admission fees to benefit the annual $1,000 Starr Psych Club Scholarship. The champions from the previous 9 editions of Starr County Got Talent shows were also invited to showcase their talent, and included singers, dancers, dance groups, duets, and musicians. Starr County Campus holds its 7th annual Mental Health Awareness Conference

Alex and Eli Sarabia have 15 years of combined experience teaching psychology at South Texas College. More than 100 students attended a hugely successful 2nd Annual Starr County Campus Psychology Majors Orientation in Rio Grande City.
