For the first time ever, STC partners with FIRST RGV during the camp, enhancing the student learning experience A weekly open house hosted by the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at South Texas College is the culminating event held by STC’s Robotics and Automation Summer Camp. Student of the Week: Christian Adame

Originally from Tamaulipas, Christian Adame says he grew on the ranchlands in Mexico. Often helping his father as a laborer, Christian says his biggest dream was to receive an education and obtain a better quality of life for himself and his family. STC Spring Commencement to be held May 12-13

Ceremonies set for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday South Texas College will confer nearly 4,000 degrees during its Spring 2017 commencement ceremonies on Friday May 12 and Saturday May 13.  Graduation will take place at the State Farm Arena. South Texas College AEDT hosts 2017 Sketcharrette

The Architectural and Engineering Design Technology Department hosted its 2017 Sketcharrette at the Mid-Valley Campus on April 26 . Students from the Architectural Illustration class were tasked with designing a house for their selected “client” (dog or cat). The Information Technology Program at South Texas College will be hosting its 6th annual IT Career Expo on April 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at its Technology Campus Atrium. The Expo has been created to promote the program and career choices available within the IT industry in the Rio Grande Valley. South Texas College and McAllen Chamber bolster innovation and entrepreneurship in the Rio Grande Valley

Check presentation continues partnership between college and advocates for business in the community As part of its ongoing partnership with South Texas College, the McAllen Chamber of Commerce held a check presentation that will be used to continue designing prototypes for those participating in the city’s Inventors and Entrepreneurs Network.
