Advisory: Brewer Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony

South Texas College will hold a recognition ceremony for its first graduates from its Professional Brewer Apprenticeship Program.

Texas Workforce Commissioner Representing Labor Julian Alvarez, Texas Workforce Commission Director of Apprenticeship, Desi Holmes, and South Texas College President Dr. Ricardo J. Solis will attend the event taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Brewsome located at 1303 N. Tenth St in McAllen,

Thanks to a unique apprenticeship program in partnership with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and local breweries, STC students have the opportunity to get an education in fermentation and brewing science.

The Brewery Apprenticeship program includes curriculum of the American Brewers Guild, which provides an academic foundation for the complex science of craft brewing.

Students receive hands-on experience through live brew projects using real industry facilities and technology.
