STC pays respect to Veterans in the community

South Texas College held Veterans Day ceremonies across all of its Hidalgo and Starr County Campuses. Pictured above is a scene from the event at the Starr County Campus in Rio Grande City. The events honored all who served the country. STC supports veterans, their spouses and dependents through various services offered at Veteran Affairs centers across all campuses.

Community gets moving in 14th annual Turkey Trot run

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The South Texas College Kinesiology Department hosted the 14th annual Turkey Trot run. The family-friendly event took place over a 2.2-mile course on the Pecan campus and surrounding area. The entry fee was eight cans of food items that benefited the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank and families in need. The first 250 participants were provided with event shirts.

 

Starr Psych Club hits decade milestone

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Starr Psych Club was honored with 10th-anniversary proclamations in Starr County earlier this month. The City of Roma, City of Rio Grande City, Starr County Judge Eloy Vera and County commissioners’ court awarded the group. STC board member Rose Benavidez presented the Psych Club with a 10th-anniversary recognition plaque. The club has also been featured in KRGV’s Con Mi Gente Segment.
