More than 30 Vanguard Academy students participated in STC’s 2019 ArchiAdventure summer camp in June. Faculty with STC’s Architecture, Engineering, Design, Technology (AEDT) Program introduced students to many techniques used in the industry including AutoCAD, Revit, 3D printing, laser cutting, and virtual reality. AEDT held an exhibit and reception on June 21 where students presented their completed projects and received a continuing education certificate for completing the course.

The 2019 RGV Hurricane Ready Expo took place at La Plaza Mall in McAllen on June 1. The expo is designed to educate Rio Grande Valley residents about the risks, dangers, and action to take before, during and after a hurricane, and included exhibits, presentations, information booths, STEM activities and much more.

Beginning in June, registered participants at STC’s Technology Campus and Pecan Plaza chose from a variety of weeklong camps designed to keep minds sharp and learn new skills all while having fun. South Texas College kicked off its summer camps that enabled students to engage in fun and interactive activities led by esteemed professionals in the field. Summer camps continue this month as STC’s popular Robotics and Automation Summer Camp takes place from July 1 to July 19.
