Students honored at student of the week ceremony

South Texas College hosted its student of the week ceremony May 1. The purpose of this ceremony was to honor all students who were at one point selected as student of the week for the 2018-2019 academic semester. STC honors students on a weekly basis who are recommended by faculty for their dedication and accomplishments.

AMT dual enrollment competition at Tech Campus

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Technology campus hosted its 11th annual Advanced Manufacturing Technology competition for dual enrollment students May 3, 2019. The purpose of the event was to better prepare students for the workforce by developing their skillset in their chosen career path. Students competed in a total of 8 different categories including vertical milling, conventional lathe, computer numerical control programming, blueprint reading and sketching, computer aided drafting, precision tools and measurements, machining mathematics, and mastercam programming.

STC graduate wins first place at Bilingual Educators Conference

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

South Texas College graduate, Carolina De Anda Trevino, attended the 48th annual conference for the National Association of Bilingual Educators (NABE) March 6-9 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Trevino took first place in the NABE Bilingual Student Essay Awards beating out 400 other competitors.
