Record number of graduates expected at STC Commencement

South Texas College will confer more than 3,700 degrees in six separate ceremonies May 17-18

Graduation will take place at the State Farm Arena. Ceremonies for 1,700 dual credit graduates will take place on Friday May 17 in three ceremonies at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m.

On Saturday, May 18, commencement for STC graduates begins with Bachelor Programs and the Division of Business, Public Safety and Technology at 9 a.m. The Division of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences will have its ceremony at 1 p.m. followed by the Division of Math and Science and the Division of Nursing and Allied Health at 5 p.m.

Graduating students are advised to pick up their cap, gown, and tickets in Building K 1.100 at STC’s Pecan Campus no later than Wednesday May15, 2019. Honor cords will be included with the packet for graduates completing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Friends and families who plan to attend the commencement ceremonies are encouraged to arrive at the State Farm Hidalgo Arena as early as possible in order to secure seating. Commencement tickets are required and will be collected before entering the venue. Please be aware of arena-mandated security procedures, as each guest will need to be cleared through security by passing through a metal detector.
