South Texas College  instructor Christopher Leonard has presented the Rio Grande Valley Food Bank with 200 hand glazed bowls created by the South Texas Clay Club at STC.

Leonard is the faculty sponsor for the club, a student organization that works year round to hone their ceramic skills and create unique artworks. The club spends hundreds of hours throwing and glazing bowls in order to donate them to their communities.

The Clay Club Donated to the Food Bank on Sept. 15, 2017 ahead of the annual Empty Bowls Luncheon and Auction, which will take place on Tuesday Sept. 19.

The RGV Food Bank uses the bowls to raise funds at “Empty Bowls” in order to continue serving those in need.
