South Texas College to host intensive social media courses for small businesses
Continuing Professional Workforce Education (CPWE) at South Texas College has developed specialized courses dedicated to small businesses seeking to increase their presence on social media.
CPWE presents “Instagram Brand Worthy Basics” an online program hosted by public relations guru Giselle Mascarenhas beginning Feb. 26.
“Every small business, every person who does any transaction has to have a footprint on Instagram to be able to grow their business. We train individuals on how to develop this in-house, which is extremely effective and efficient,” Mascarenhas said. “We have been consulting and doing one on one workshops for the realty business and mortgage business and we have seen such incredible success with people understanding how to brand on Instagram.”

The Instagram course is intended to teach small businesses how to increase their fan base or followers on the social media site utilizing a new eight-class program every six weeks. The cost is $1,700 for the full course, but participants can take individual courses for advanced instruction. Approximate cost per course is $299.
A Texas-based entrepreneur and PR expert, Mascarenhas’ past and current clients include New York City-based fashion brand Maison de Papillon, Warren Group Architects, and the Law Office of Rene A. Flores.
“We want to instruct as many people as possible,” Mascarenhas said. “I have always wanted to help as many small business owners as possible because I have always been one myself. I have been an entrepreneur for over two decades now, so I know how hard it is.”
