STC CARES Continues into Spring 2021

Summary

STC continues with support during the pandemic with another care package for spring 2021 through CARES Act Emergency Aid.

Since the start of COVID-19, South Texas College has dispersed millions to support students by using CARES Act funds given through the U.S. Department of Education.

STC continues with this support during the pandemic with another care package for spring 2021 through CARES Act Emergency Aid.

The total STC CARES package for the spring is set at $1,200 for each student. The funds will be comprised by a $600 CARES Act funded scholarship for students who are enrolled in at least 6 hours, along with $600 of CARES Act Emergency Aid.

The package will be limited to students who are not currently enrolled at STC.

STC invites students who are recent high school graduates, working adults, and students who were not able to enroll due to the impact of COVID-19 to STC to enroll in the Spring semester.

“Not only is it a new year, but it is spring and is a time of hope and renewal,” said Matthew Hebbard, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “It’s time to come back and move forward with the dream of earning a college degree.”

Students must submit a CARES Act application, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and must meet all CARES Act requirements to receive the CARES package.

Funds are limited and available on a first-come first served basis until all the funds are given out. Spring 2021 registration is now open. On-campus services are available by appointment at: https://www.southtexascollege.edu/go/appt.

“We have been here throughout the pandemic and will continue to be here to support our students,” said Hebbard. “We are pleased to welcome back students who were not able to enroll and offer them this support,”
