STC enrollment centers to open every Saturday in August

Summary

STC enrollment centers at Pecan, Mid-Valley and Starr County campuses to open each Saturday in August to assist students with Fall 2020 registration.

South Texas College invites students to take advantage of its enrollment centers at Starr, Mid Valley and Pecan campuses. The centers will be open on all Saturdays throughout August to help students with registration for the fall semester.

Classes start Aug. 24, and STC has made all the necessary preparations so students can study safely for their dream careers, fast and close to home.

Enrollment Centers and Financial Aid areas will be open for students by appointment only. Students can sign up for an appointment by downloading the Qless app and searching for South Texas College or by clicking the following link: https://www.southtexascollege.edu/go/appt

Face masks/face coverings will be required on all STC campuses. Enrollment centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We know this has been an extremely difficult time for our students, and the Saturday hours allow us to serve students and maintain social distancing,” said Matthew Hebbard, STC Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “We have a safe campus environment and plenty of online and hybrid class options for fall.

“Many students may be thinking about taking a semester off because of the pandemic, but we strongly encourage students to keep up the momentum to earn a College degree.” Hebbard said. “We are open and we are ready to help, even on the weekend.”

In the wake of the current COVID-19 global pandemic, STC plans to make extensive use of technology, while preserving the most important elements of in-person required activities, through an in-person/hybrid course structure this fall.

The college will be offering approximately 20 percent of its 4,500 courses in an in-person/hybrid format, with the rest of the courses available in online format for the fall.

With the in-person/hybrid model established at STC, fall courses requiring hands-on activities will be split into 50 percent classroom instruction and 50 percent online instruction.

Early payment deadline for fall 2020 is Aug. 17. Normal payment deadline is Aug. 23. 10, and the final payment deadline is Sept. 9. Registration is now open.

Current and recently enrolled students can always register online at www.southTexasCollege.edu/register or at any South Texas College location. A complete listing of upcoming classes is available at www.SouthTexasCollege.edu/academics/courses/.
