STC student means business

Student of the Week: Jesus Gonzalez

Being very business minded, Jesus Gonzalez says he has always had an interest in working with money. He says he is very determined to earn his degree.

Currently a sophomore at South Texas College, Jesus is pursuing an Associate of Arts in Business Administration. He is slated to graduate in 2021.

The Associate of Arts in Business Administration is for those students interested in expanding their knowledge in courses such as management, marketing, economics, and human resources.

“I chose business administration because I wanted to have a more all-around knowledge,” said Jesus. “I always knew I wanted to be in this field.”

“From middle school to high school I was always good at math,” explained Jesus. “I was always interested in small businesses and was able to get a grasp of how business runs.”

While Jesus says it easy to get caught up with everything else, he says it is important take time with your education.

“Whenever I take any amount of classes, I always make sure to take my time,” expressed Jesus. “When I take my time, I come out with a high grade.”

“I chose STC because it was recommended very highly from my friends and teachers,” explained Jesus. “STC is very special to me because the professors are able to help me one on one. To me, that’s very rare.”

Once Jesus graduates from STC, he says he plans to continue his education and complete a bachelors in finance.

Jesus says he knew STC was the right choice after hearing positive feedback from his peers.

“I chose STC because it was recommended very highly from my friends and teachers,” explained Jesus. “STC is very special to me because the professors are able to help me one on one. To me, that’s very rare.”

Jesus says he wouldn’t have it any other way. He says his time at STC has been exceptional.

“My experience at STC has been the best,” said Jesus. “I appreciate everything STC does. From their professors to the extracurricular activities they have going on.”

Jesus has a message for students wanting to accomplish their goals.

“The more time you put into your education, the more you will get out of it,” expressed Jesus.
