South Texas College’s Starr County Campus Library Art Gallery presents “Modern Condition,” an exhibit featuring artworks by Travis Trapp. The exhibit opens Thursday, Feb. 21 and will be on view through Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Starr County Campus Library Art Gallery, located at 142 FM 3167 in Rio Grande City. Starr County residents will enjoy a mix of old photograph techniques blended with the new in “Rediscovery and the Illumination of Old and Revealing of New,” an art exhibit featuring digitally-altered photographs by Phyllis Evans. The exhibit will be on display from Sept. 20 to Dec. 9, 2011 at South Texas College’s Starr County Campus Library Art Gallery located at 142 FM 3167 in Rio Grande City. Library Week is that time of the year when we stop and appreciate what libraries and librarians have contributed to our schools and communities. All five of South Texas College’s libraries will celebrate Library Week with a number of activities. The events are free and open to the public. Author Minerva Morales de Garcia will share her knowledge of Valley history at STC’s Pecan Campus Library on June 24.

The people, traditions and culture of the Rio Grande Valley make up a tapestry of stories and tales woven together to create one unique history.
