Starr County Psychology Club joins Adopt-A-Highway program

The Starr County Campus Psychology Club of South Texas College participated in its first ever Adopt-A-Highway Trash Pick-Up on Saturday, July 8.
Psychology club members collected over 20 bags of trash over a 2 mile stretch in Rio Grande City adjacent to the STC campus which they opted to sponsor earlier this year. The “Adopt-A-Highway: Don’t Mess with Texas” Initiative created by the Texas Department of Transportation has been established to help keep the Texas roads clean.
Psychology club advisors Eli Sarabia and Alex Sarabia started the paperwork process in March, and the 2-year agreement calls for four trash pick-ups a year before renewing the agreement in two years.  Each member received a certificate of appreciation for their volunteer work and service to the community.
